Description
The postcard shows the so called “Eisenbahnkirche” in Chernivtsi, bulilt in todays Nikitina Street (former Bahnhofstrasse), close to the train station and appartment buildings for employees of the railways. Built in 1908 for the 60th anniversary of the coronation of emperor Franz Josef I, it was called “Jubiläums-Eisenbahnkirche”. It was built as a Roman Catholic church and is now used by the Greek-Catholic community of Chernivtsi.
