"From 1995 to 2000 I was a student of the Faculty of Philology of the Taras Shevchenko University. I came to study in Kyiv from a small town in the north of Ukraine. My family was quite poor and in the 1990's it became even more difficult, especially with clothes. That's why my mother's wardrobe was disassembled to make new clothes. My sister and I sewed everything from T-shirts to overcoats. In this picture I am wearing a fur coat made from my mother's two coats. It was hand-sewn since no sewing machine could penetrate the fur. I was very pleased with it and thought I looked "A-Okay" in this coat, especially with a synthetic scarf on my head tied like a turban."
