Rostyslav Averchuk

The collection consists of two films shot on 8mm film in the 1970s and 1980s in the town of Manevychi, Volyn Region, by Rostyslav Averchuk's grandfather, radiologist Feodosii Zakharovych Muliarchuk.

The films show various moments in the private life of Feodosii Muliarchuk's family: the courtyard and interiors of the rooms of a country house, housekeeping and leisure, the youth of his daughter Nelia, and the childhood years of his grandson. Some of the footage depicts people in public spaces in the village: walking in nature, attending the school assembly during the last bell ceremony, and working in the hospital office.

There is a separate storyline about the family car, next to which they posed and took short trips in front of the camera.

The films were digitised as part of the project "Safeguarding Ukrainian Heritage of Amateur Films and Home Movies", implemented with the support of The Modern Endangered Archives Program.
