An interview with the lighting artist at a drama theatre. The conversation begins with his childhood memories when he, a 13-year-old boy, became interested in theatre; when he was 16, he became the youngest lighting mechanic in the USSR. The man has worked in the theatre since 1950, experimented with light in various ways without even having proper equipment. The interviewee recalls the tours, the friendly team, communication with the colleagues from other theatres; he describes the peculiarities of his profession and points to the lighting lab, which he helped to establish.
