Along the southern facade of the Armenian Church stretches an arcade, built in 1437, significantly rebuilt during the restoration of 1908, the columns and capitals destroyed by time were replaced with new ones made according to the model. The construction of the Armenian Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary dates back to the 14th century, when Lviv received the status of the capital of the Armenian bishopric. Over the centuries, the Cathedral has been rebuilt and restored, with the names of famous Polish architects and artists Franciszek Monczynski, Józef Mehoffer, Witold Minkiewicz, and Jan Henryk Rozen being associated with it. In the southern courtyard of the church are located such significant monuments of Armenian culture in Lviv as the arcade, the chapel of the Crucified Christ, and the ancient Armenian cemetery.
