The night views of Lviv are of great interest. The image shows a night view of the Dominican Church of the Corpus Christi, now the Church of the Holy Eucharist of the UGCC. The night views give an idea of the visual design of the city at that time, the possibility of comparison with modern examples of illumination of prominent Lviv architectural monuments, including the Church of the Holy Eucharist. Night photography testifies to the high professional level of pre-war Lviv photographers. The photograph belongs to a highly professional amateur photographer, bank employee Jan Otko. Since the 1920s, Jan Otko has been interested in the art of photography, studying professional literature. Since the mid-1930s, he became one of the first amateur cinematographers in Lviv on 8 mm film. He used the equipment and services of the Kodak representative office in Lviv. In Jan's photographic work, in addition to family-themed photos, Otka photographed many views of the city and life in Lviv before World War II, as well as photos with Carpathian motifs.
