"It’s a picture of my mother Svitlana Miroshnychenko. In this photo she is about 25 years old. She worked as a controller in the incoming control inspection of Lozova Forging and Mechanical Plant - the largest industry in town. The photo was taken for the honor roll. She is wearing a striped white and pink calico blouse with a patch pocket on the left side. She sewed the blouse herself after she saw the cut-out in the magazine "Fashion". She also sewed a skirt with patch pockets using the same materials. Although she didn't like the pink, this outfit took a prominent place in her wardrobe for several years. Beads and earrings are artificial pearls. She has a hairstyle that was popular back then and was called "khimia" ( literally “chemistry”, common name for any kind of permanent). She remembers that she put her hair in an uncommon way, on one side, because it was fashionable then."<br />
