Women on the street
- ID: 48158
- Place: Odesa
- Date: 1975
“Hanna Vlasivna Doroshenko survived Kyiv’s occupation, lost her husband at war and single handedly raised two children and her kid sister. In 1946 she was decorated with an order “For the outstanding and self-sacrificing work during the Great Patriotic War”. In this picture she's posing with her neighbor both wearing coats of the same cut and made from the same material. After war years didn’t give many opportunities to be diverse in one’s clothes. Nevertheless, her trendy hairstyle and frilled front manifest her yearning for maintaining a decent look for Kyivien. The place picture was taken is Stalinka (now Demiivka)”.
