A series of photos of the Kyiv first gymnasium students shows them at the time of different classes and during recreation; we can see physics, biology and drawing lessons in specialized classrooms, parade drills and sport exercises in the garden. In this picture, the gymnasium students can be seen on a skating-rink, most figures in the center are wearing skates. The skating-rink was situated in the courtyard of the gymnasium (Bibikovsky (now Tarasa Shevchenka) boulevard, now the “Yellow building” of the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University).
