The housing along the Lybid river.<br />
One can see the traditional one-floor wooden housing typical of<br />
suburbs. The river itself flowed in the so-called trough. A very<br />
interesting thing is the zhygach,<br />
an element due to which water was drained from roofs directly to<br />
ditches. This picture is a rare documentary evidence of the existence<br />
of such elements before vertical drainpipes became widespread.</p><p>Olga Martyniuk</p>
