Description

At the end of the 18th century, the Austrian authorities ordered the liquidation of all old church cemeteries. Thus, in 1828, Cathedral Square appeared on the site of the ancient cemetery around the Latin Cathedral. In 1850–1857, these buildings on Cathedral Square housed a branch of the second (German) Lviv gymnasium. Among other students, the son of the governor of Galicia, Agenor Golukhovsky, studied here.
