“It’s a picture of my mother Svitlana Doroshenko (maiden name Avramenko), a Kyiv native, wearing a jacket and the hat made by her sister Maiia Smirnova, modelling designer in the Republican Modelling House. My mother was crazy about this hat. Perhaps it was made from some exotic foreigh fabric. Many pictures are preserved of her wearing this hat combined with different garments. When I grew up a little this hat was remodelled for me to wear. I clearly remember wearing this hat when playing in the yard”.
