An interview with an artist, who was born in Kazakhstan and lives in Lviv. The man gives a detailed description of the milieu that formed in the 1970s and 1980s around prominent writers, monthly “kvartyrnyky” (meetings in the apartments), and ways to spend leisure time. The interviewee recalls persecution of members of local artistic communities, which sometimes led to hilarious events as well as negative consequences. In addition to that, the interviewee enumerates the places where their community used to meet, reflects on the status of Soviet Lviv, and tells about the ways to get books, magazines and recordings.
