An interview with the director of drama theatre, People’s Artist and an Honored Artist of Ukraine. The interviewee first studied in Lviv, then – in Moscow, and worked in Russia for a longer time, which allows her to compare a theatrical life in Russia and Ukraine. The woman tells about the peculiarities of work in the Soviet period, the problems with the performances, the specifics of the audience and the repertoire, as well as the peculiarities of artistic opposition at the theatre. Now she mainly works with chamber performances. The interviewee underlines the importance of festivals that allow comparison and getting feedback. A special place in her work belongs to the performances after Anton Chekhov.
