Description
The postcard shows the Palace Hotel in Strada Regina Maria (Rathausstrasse, now vul. Holovna).  The hotel was one of the best in town until the Second World War, most photos show private cars parked in front of it. The one-storied building next to it, separated from the hotel by the tiny Strada Cosbuc (Tittingergasse), was raised by one storey later.  After the second World War the Hotel was renamed “Kiev” and got back its traditional name “Palace” only in 2008.
