Description

In 1900-1904, at the Society for the Promotion of Science's initiative, a boarding house was built on Dvernytskogo Street (now Svientsitskogo Street) on the lands allocated to the Society by the Lviv Magistrate. The boarding house for the Lviv gymnasiums' out-of-town students was named the Tadeusz Kosciuszko House. Ludwik Fryuhauf designed the building, Michal Michalsky carried out the technical management, and the engineer-architect, Ludwik Wieżbitsky, supervised the construction. 40 students lived in the boarding house.

After World War II, from 1951, there was a secondary women's school No. 27, among whose students was the daughter of the commander of the Precarpathian District, Marshal of the Soviet Union, Ivan Konev, who lived nearby on Parkova Street. As a result of school reform, in 1954, the Men's and Women's schools were combined, and this combined 27th school was transferred to 15 Instytutska Street (now Sventsitskogo Street) to the building of the Ivano-Frankivska Pedagogical Institute.
