Description

The Church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnytsia on Zhovkivska Street was built in 1644 at the expense of the Wallachian landlord Vasyl Lupul (father-in-law of Tymosh Khmelnytsky) on the foundations of a temple from the princely era of the late 13th - early 14th centuries. This is the only Lviv temple in which its ancient iconostasis from the 17th century has been preserved. The temple acquired its current appearance after the restoration in 1885.
