The photo shows the concert hall of the Mykola Lysenko Music Institute in Lviv during an unknown gathering.
The building of the Music Institute at 5 Shashkevycha Street was built in 1913–1916 according to the design of architect Eugeniusz Chervynsky. The construction work was carried out by the firms of Ivan Levynsky and engineer Dubyk. The still preserved wall paintings in the interior were made by Modest Sosenko. The sculptural busts of Taras Shevchenko and Mykola Lysenko on both sides of the stage of the large concert hall were made by Mykhailo Parashchuk.
From the very beginning of the Music Institute's existence, the hall was used for film screenings. In 1916–1918, Ya. Melnyk rented the hall for the "Military Kitchen Cinema". From 1928 to 1939, the hall housed the "Stylovy" cinema with 383 seats. Mauritsia Fish.
In 1939-1941, the Music Institute became the State Ukrainian Music School with a Polish department. The Lviv State Music School named after S. P. Lyudkevych still operates in the tenement house, and in the 1950s-1960s, the hall was used by the Komsomolets cinema.
