The People's House was built in 1857 on the site of a monastery and a Trinitarian church. Since 1784, the monastery housed Lviv University. In 1848, during the revolutionary events, the buildings were destroyed, and their ruins were handed over to the Ukrainian community. According to the design of architects Wilhelm Schmidt and Sylvester Havrishkevych, the building was rebuilt and the People's House was located in it. Since November 1, 1918, this building has housed the headquarters of the organizers of the November Order. During the years of Soviet power, the District Officers' House, now the Cinema Palace, was located here. On the left side of the image, a fragment of the Transfiguration Church, which was only being built at that time, is visible. On the top of the building there is a lion and the inscription "People's House". On the facade of the building, a sign "O.T.Winkler" is visible.
