Description

The building on Žatkovycha Square, 1 (now Županatska Square), where from 1809 until the end of World War I the government of the Uzhansk County - Županat (Komitat - regional government) was located. On the pediment of the two-story U-shaped building of the county, the coat of arms of the Uzhansk County is placed. The building performed not only administrative functions - various receptions, theatrical performances, meetings and meetings of political parties, cultural, educational and public organizations took place here. In the large, so-called Historical Hall, on May 8, 1919, a meeting of the Central Russian People's Council was held, at which a decision was made to join Transcarpathia to Czechoslovakia. During this period (1919-1938), the governor's residence was located here.
