“It’s a picture of my grandmother Vira Yakivna Blokha with her sons Leonid and Volodymyr. In 1947, at the age of 18, worked as a typesetter in a printing house. My grandmother came from a poor family, earned little, dressed badly, and considered herself ugly. But the newly appointed director of the printing house, a handsome man, began to court her, which was unexpected and pleasant, and grandmother almost immediately agreed to his marriage proposal. In February 1951, the grandfather died, and Vera Yakivna was left with two young sons in her care. In 1953 she remarried, and in this marriage there were no common children."
