It’s a picture of Nadiia Volodymyrivna Tryhub, my mom’s close friend. They befriended each other in school. They slept next to each other in boarding school, they visited each other at home regularly and wrote letters to each other on summer break. ‘Nadia didn’t have a father, but she was an only child at care of her mom and granny so she always had nice clothes’ - my mom recollects.
After school they lost sight of each other for a few years while studying and working. They reunited in Shchors, where they settled in with their families. ‘Nadia was a blue-eyed beauty with charming dimples on her cheeks when she laughed. We were always glad to see each other: always hugging, talking, laughing. Few years ago Nadia passed away leaving a husband and two daughters. My mom says that she never had such a good friend.”
