In 1926, Ukrainian organizations in Lviv held a series of events to mark the tenth anniversary of Ivan Franko's death. The events were organized by the "Sokol-Batka" society. Flowers were solemnly laid at the grave of I. Franko at the Lychakiv cemetery. The "Sokols" also planted an oak tree named after Ivan Franko.
