In 1892, the university's chemical and mineralogical building was constructed on a plot of land belonging to the Botanical Garden of Lviv University on Dlugosz Street (now Cyril and Methodius Street). The building was constructed according to the plans of the Viennese architect Rizori under the supervision of Joseph Braunseis, who represented the construction department of the Imperial-Royal Governor's Office.
