Krakowska Square appeared around 1840 between Krakivska, Teatralna Streets, Golukhovskych Square, Rizni, Gusiacha, Smocha, Zhovkivska Streets. It got its name from the old Krakivska Gate, which existed until 1784 on the site of houses No. 23 and No. 26 on Krakivska Street. In the past, the entire square in front of the Krakivska Gate was also called Farn Tojr (Vor dem Tor), since it was located on the border with the Jewish district. Part of Krakivska Square from Krakivska Street to Teatralna Street had the local name Bei di huces, because for several decades along the sidewalk there were stalls where Slovak merchants (they were called Hutsuls - die huces) sold cream, nuts, etc. The most interesting objects: The Church of the Immaculate Conception of Mary of the Snows, modelly equipped City Bazaar and Skarbkiv Theater.
