The film contains an amateur feature film — a comedic sketch about the fight against moonshine production:
Fog over the lake. The sun is rising. Smoke from the chimney on the roof. Aunt Palashka (Oleksandra Kuziura) does the housework: feeds the chickens, milks the cow, sends it to graze, prepares fodder. Her husband Fedir (Fedir Bondarenko) wakes up, steps onto the porch, stretches. Roosters beat on the barn. The voice-over says Palashka makes moonshine – for teeth and for her husband. A scrap metal collector (Ivan Koshelenko) arrives with a cart. He urges women to quit making moonshine and hand over the equipment. One woman responds. Palashka brings out her cast-iron pipes and loads them onto the cart. She’s curious about the embroidered shawl on the cart, but the collector won’t give it back. Fedir chops wood. Alla Pugacheva’s song If You Suffer Long (Если долго мучиться) plays. Palashka tries to sneak a bottle to the collector, but Fedir catches her and takes the bottle, drinks, and tosses it over the fence. The collector hides it in the hay and drives off. Fedir sharpens his hoe, hands it to Palashka, and heads to the field. He meets the collector by the pond. They drink and snack. Another man (Mykola Hrytsai) runs up – says he escaped from a mad dog. The dog approaches. The men hide in the water. The bottle is left behind. The dog eats the food, knocks over the bottle. The men try to save the rest. The horse and cart go to the field. The men come out of the water. Aunt Palashka appears with a branch. “Shots” are heard. She grabs the bottle, drinks, and pours the moonshine into the river. The men run. Palashka and the mad dog chase them. The song Heart, You Don’t Want to Rest (Сердце, тебе не хочется покоя) plays.
