“It’s a picture of my parents Yosyp and Osypa (Yuzia). The photo was taken in one of the Lviv photo studios.
My parents were working-class people. My father was born in the Pikulovychi village, Pustomyty district, Lviv region, and has lived in Lviv since the mid-1960s. My mother was born in the Stoyanka village, Mosty district, and has lived in Lviv since the early 1960s.
My mother was short, had a non-standard figure, so she was forced to get her clothing tailored, often in the studio at the corner of Copernicus and Slovatsky streets. Mom could buy stocking boots on the platform at the flea market. It was a place in the center of Lviv, where both second hand clothes and those that were acquired through connections were sold. My father's suit was bought in a local store."
