One of the earliest photos of Kyiv depicts the arrival of the first train at the Kyiv train station. Only one track was built at that time. Tricoloured flags of the Russian Empire can be seen on the train and on the newly constructed train station building. There are human figures on the carriages; one can see an open carriage in the middle of the train.
