Description
The film contains an amateur film report on the work and assortment of retail stores in the Korop community of the Soviet Chernihiv region:

1) 00:00:13 - 00:01:18 — Sweeping views of rural landscapes, village buildings, and locals. Monuments to those who fell in World War II. Schoolchildren play football. Voice-over: a verse Where Do Villages Begin, (З чого починаються села) inspired by the song Where Does the Motherland Begin (С чего начинается Родина).

2) 00:01:19 - 00:02:25 — A saleswoman stands behind the counter. Outside, bicycles are parked near the grocery. Women stroll along the village street. Bread and bottled drinks are delivered. The bus schedule posted at the Nehaivka stop.

3) 00:02:26 - 00:04:54 — The village of Komunistychne (modern-day Horodyshche): the House of Culture, a monument to Lenin. A visit by the district consumer union to a local café. Boys munch on corn flakes near the entrance. Nadiia’s recording of an interview with saleswoman Taisiia. Weighing candy on the scale. Shoppers browsing counters of clothing and shoes in the industrial goods section.

4) 00:05:02 - 00:07:09 — The village of Obolonnia. Shoppers explore a wide assortment of manufactured goods: fabrics, baby carriages, bicycles, televisions, radios, musical instruments, books, potted plants, clocks, and tableware. Stalls display a variety of food products with prices. Voice-over: emphasizes that stores are well stocked with goods from all product groups.

5) 00:07:10 - 00:07:09 — A VAZ 2121 is parked near a shop selling household and food goods. Shelves of kitchen utensils, lamps, chandeliers, vases, and crystalware. Purchases are wrapped in paper. A kitchen worker prepares food. Saleswoman Parfenova stands behind the counter.

6) 00:08:17 - 00:09:48 — The village of Ponornytsia. The area around a shopping center. The head of the district consumer union, Shapoval, gives an interview in front of a grocery store. Sellers weigh sausage behind the counter while customers wait in line in the grocery and commissary departments.

7) 00:09:49 - 00:11:57 — Pokoshychi village. Sellers and buyers in a local store. The store manager pours juice. The voice-over refers to saleswomen as “perestroika assistants.” Shapoval converses with the store manager. Fire safety corners and an alarm system. Toys are displayed on the counter. A view of the road from the passenger seat, capturing the driver in motion.

The film features poetic voice-over narration by L. Petrenko, delivered in an elevated and optimistic tone.

The second audio track of the film serves as an editing cue sheet, providing a frame-by-frame description of individuals, objects, and actions.

The film was commissioned by the board of the Koropsk District Consumer Union. Its content is clearly propagandistic in nature, assuring the audience of the diversity of the assortment of Soviet stores.
