The image of the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is drawn with simple outlines, without detailed elaboration, which creates the impression of laconicism and severity of the Gothic style. The author of the image, Teofil Zhykhovych, unlike the similar lithograph by Karl Auer, directs the viewer's main attention not to the church, but to Cathedral Square. On the right is a perspective of Dluha Street (from 1871 Teatralna Square), with an exit to Ferdinand Square (from 1862 Maryatsky Square, from December 1944 Mickiewicz Square). Behind the cathedral building on the right is house No. 7 on Cathedral Square, on the left is house No. 1 on Halytska Street. The left side of the image is framed by the corner of house No. 4 on Teatralna Street. The schematic and dry drawing is softened by the light watercolor coloring of the lithograph. The image is given liveliness by a genre scene of townspeople walking in front of a temple that illustrates the urban life of Lviv in the mid-19th century.
