The picture shows the northern part of the main square of the city, laid out during the location of Stanislavov in the 1660s. On the left are the tenement houses on the northern side of the Market Square. On the right is part of the town hall, built in 1870–1871 according to the design of A. Przybylowski and F. Pokutynski. In the background are the houses on the eastern side of the Market Square. Behind them are the two towers of the facade of the Armenian Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (now the Pokrovsk Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church). The Market Square is paved with trees, the sidewalks on the square are covered with slabs. In the foreground is a water column from which water is collected, and nearby are several high school students.
