The beginning of Lychakivska Street, which runs from Charnetskogo Street (now Vynnychenko Street) to Lychakivska Rogatka, one of the oldest streets in Lviv, existed as early as the 15th century as Hlynyanska Road. The name Lychakivska already existed in 1573, and in 1786, the street was still divided into lower (to St. Anthony's Church) and upper parts. The name comes from the name of the Lychakiv district, of which it is the main artery; in turn, Lychakiv is a transformed name of the Lyutsenhof farmstead, founded in the early 16th century in the area of St. Anthony's Church.
On the right is the Bernardine (Clarisse) monastery, surrounded by a stone fence, and the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church was built in 1606-1607 by architect Pavlo Rymlyanin. The church was reconstructed in 1740. In 1782, the order was abolished, and the monastery building was used as a customs office, while the former church was used as a tobacco warehouse (for the future Vynnykivska tobacco factory). In 1898-1899, the church underwent restoration, after which it was designated for use by schoolchildren.
