During Russian occupation of Lviv in 1914-1915, the Russian army captain, O. Nabokov, took a series of photographs, immortalizing the every-day life of soldiers and officers of the Russian army. One of the topics that interested him was the communion of soldiers and Lviv residents in the squares and markets of Lviv, particularly in the largest at that time: Krakow market. In the background is a row of buildings of Krakow square, from Treatralna Street (the first street on the right) to Krakivsky Street (the second street on the right in the background of the image)
