In 1925, a steam pump station was built in the village of Volya Dobrostanska, 29 km from Lviv, which would help pump water from Shklo to Lviv. The Volya Dobrostanska-Lviv water pipeline passed at most 240,000 cubic meters of water per 24 hours (1,000 cubic meters per hour). The pump station had a total area of 400 square meters, consisting of buildings that housed four boilers and three vertical steam pump units, the largest of which pumped 1,000 cubic meters of water per hour. Water was pumped to the reservoir in Lviv by a pipeline with an internal diameter of 600 mm; the length of the water pipeline was 34.7 km. The engine room in Volya Dobrostanska was located at 285 m above sea level, while the Lviv water reservoir - 333 m above sea level.
