Since 1956, annual agricultural and industrial exhibitions showcasing the achievements of the Lviv region's national economy have been held in Stryi Park, on the site of the former General County Exhibition and Eastern Trade Fair. Until now, exhibitions of this format were held in the newly created Park of Culture and Recreation named after B. Khmelnytsky, located on the site of former clay quarries. In the mid-1950s, the specialized pavilions of the Eastern Trade Fair were adapted for the needs of regional exhibitions. In the foreground on the right is a fragment of the main pavilion, the so-called “Horseshoe,” built according to the plans of engineer Adam Baum. During the Soviet era, a transport pavilion was located here; above the side entrance to the pavilion is a city electric clock, one of many that were located in crowded areas of the city.
