The photo shows a flower garden, located in front of the central pavilion of the First Provincial Agriculture and Industry Exhibition of 1877, which was held from September 6 to October 10 on the territory of Yablonovsky Park (now Petrushevich Square). The exhibition was organized at the initiative of the Galician Economic Society by Count Włodzimierz Dzeduszicki, Prince Leon Sapieha, and engineer Ludwik Wierzbicki. The exhibition catalog contained 1,492 items - exhibits of industrial and agricultural departments. The exhibition revealed possible paths for development of Galicia, resulting in the establishment of the Regional Bank and the Art and Industrial School.
