The photo shows the corner of Austriaplatz (P. Ghica Voda, Soborna pl.) and Rathausstrasse (Str. Regina Maria, vul. Chervonoarmijska) as seen from the Austria Platz. <br />The low building on the corner belongs to the first generation of stone buildings in Chernivtsi, dating back to the first half of the 19th.c. It ís home to one of the many beer halls (Bierhalle, Berarie) that existed in Chernivtsi and has been replaced by appartment buildings in the meantime. <br /><em>Helmut Kusdat</em>
