The original wooden church of the Discalced Carmelites of St. Martin in the northern part of Lviv was founded around 1630 by Alexander Zborovsky. A hospital for war veterans was created at the church. The old building burned down in 1700. The current stone church with a monastery was built in 1736–1753 by Jan Rubchinsky. After the order was abolished, a school was located in the monastery (1784).
