“When my grandmother Vira Blokha was young she loved to be photographed. She often went to the photo studio with her family and bought pictures from street photographers. This picture was taken in the studio. The purse she holds in her hands was given to her by her husband, Yosyp. After the war, he served in Germany and brought back many trophy items, including this bag. The coat and hat don't belong to my grandmother, they were handed to her just for this photo. The hat might even be men's.”
