Tower No. 2 at the Citadel
- ID: 950
- Place: Lviv
- Date: 1941-1944
Tower No. 2 was built in 1853 as a part of the Citadel fortification and military complex. At the beginning of the 20th century, a guardhouse with a checkpoint stood near the tower. Since the beginning of 1941, when a concentration camp was located on the territory of the Citadel, this tower (according to the testimonies of Soviet prisoners of war) was used as an interrogation room and a death row cell. Since 2007, work has been underway to equip the tower with a hotel.
