
Former Casernes of the Citadel

The photo shows the northern side of the former barracks of the Citadel defense complex, which was used as a concentration camp from 1941 to 1944. From the beginning of 1941, the eastern wing (on the left) was converted into prison cells, and the camp command was located in the western wing (in the center of the image). From January 1943, prisoners from the Rawa Russky concentration camp "Stalag 325" were transferred to the Citadel.
