The film contains an amateur film report on the commemoration of Soviet soldiers killed in Afghanistan:
1) 00:00:09 - 00:04:03 — Korop. A monument. A solemn procession with flags, a brass band, and wreaths. Laying of flowers at the monument to Lenin. A garland of memory is laid at the memorial. General view of the procession participants on the streets of the village. Wooden sculptures.
2) 00:04:04 - 00:05:35 - Birds over plowed fields. An electric locomotive with passenger cars. Willow branches. Flooding. A poem sounds. Thunderstorm. Streams of rainwater from a roof. A birch in the wind. Freight cars.
3) 00:05:36 - 00:12:07 — Military march. Veterans of the war in Afghanistan. The unveiling of the Monument to Soldiers-Internationalists. Mendelssohn’s funeral march plays. Participants of the mourning rally. The names of the community’s fallen are read out behind the scenes. The Church of the Assumption. Laying of flowers and wreaths. Mothers of the deceased are presented with flowers. Military personnel are honored. Mykhailo Muromov’s song The Order of Battle is Awarded to the Soldier (Боевым награждается орденом) is played. Military parade continues. Mothers with children. Vadym Yegorov’s song Clouds (Облака) is heard. The commentator delivers a propaganda narrative depicting the war in Afghanistan as the “defense of the southern borders.”
