The town of Koltiv is located on the left bank of the Western Bug River, 18 km from the district center of Zolochiv. The first written mention of the town dates back to 1441. The ancient settlement is located on the elevation of the left bank of the Western Bug River in a forest tract, surrounded on two sides by a pond, and on the third by a swamp. At the beginning of the 19th century, the estate passed into the possession of Count Józef Baworowski, who built a palace and invited the famous landscape designer Spitz to arrange the estate territory. The landscape architect arranged a classic English park, which was considered the best in Galicia. The pearl of the garden and park composition was the combination of natural forms of the park massif with planned forms of parterres, terraces, various retaining walls, a network of garden paths and alleys, and a decorative pond. The park and its elements and structures of park architecture were a continuation of the features of the surrounding landscape. The town of Koltiv is also known for the stay in the estate of Bavorovsky of the most famous Lviv musician, violinist and rival of Niccolò Paganini himself - Karol Lipinsky. The Koltiv estate was a famous center of cultural life of Galachyna. The palace was decorated with stylish interiors and exquisite furniture, it was here that the famous collection of works of art, collected by Count Bavorovsky, was located. At the end of World War I, a fire destroyed the estate and palace of the Bavorovskys.
