Description

Stryisky Park (Kilin Park) was created in 1887. Ten years earlier, city park inspector Arnold Rering had designed the park's layout, taking advantage of the natural features of the landscape in this part of the city, which made it possible to create one of the most beautiful parks in Europe at that time. In the lower part of the park, a monument to Jan Kilinski (1894) was erected according to the design of the outstanding Polish sculptor Julian Markowski, and nearby, above the pond, a greenhouse for rare exotic plants was built. In 1895, a restaurant was opened in the rebuilt pavilion of the city of Lviv from the 1894 General Provincial Exhibition, which was moved from the upper terrace of the park and existed until the 1970s.

According to one version, it was designed by architect Karol Boublik based on a sketch by Juliusz Hochberger and built by G. Müller. The pavilion looked like a German Renaissance villa and was distinguished by its rich decoration and use of spectacular ornamentation. According to another source, the pavilion was designed by Tadeusz Prilinski from Krakow and built by Lviv builders Jakub Balaban and Wlodzimierz Podgorecki.
