The picture shows a small square formed by the intersection of Lychakivska, M. Zankovetska and Solodova streets. On this site, among the city vineyards on Lychakiv, in the 17th century the Church of St. Anthony was founded, which was first mentioned in 1617. The construction of a new brick church began in 1718 (it was consecrated in 1739); the Church of St. Anthony received its modern Baroque appearance in 1765. In the foreground is a staircase with a sculptural figure of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary from the middle of the 17th century, by sculptor Sebastian Fesinger. Above the church is one of the oldest Lviv markets, which is still functioning - Vynnyky. The market had 80 professional trading places and 180 temporary ones, designed for the sale of agricultural products sold by direct producers - peasants. In Soviet times, the market had the status of a collective farm. From the side of Lychakivska Street, two four-story twin houses adjoin the market, built in 1895 according to the design of the famous Lviv builder, Lychakiv native Andrzej Holomb; in one of them (No. 55) the childhood years of the outstanding Polish poet Zbigniew Herbert (1924-1998) passed.
