In 1869-1876, the Bernardine monastery complex on the northern side contained a gymnasium named after Franz Joseph. After the construction of its own gymnasium building at 5 Batorego Street (now Kniazya Romana Street), the 4th gymnasium was located in the vacated monastery premises. The photo shows the northern monastery wall and gate from the side of Valovaya Street.
