- Place: Lviv
The photo by one of the most prominent masters of Lviv photography of the 19th century, Józef Eder, captures the largest industrial enterprise in Galicia at that time: the factory of Zygmunt Franciszek Moser, located at 5 Krasytskyi Street. The enterprise produced metal products, including bells of various sizes (up to the largest), fire pumps, and they manufactured machines and agricultural instruments. The factory occupied a large plot of land between 5 Krasytskyi Street (now Ohiyenko Street) and 15 Horodotska Street. When the city was self-governing, an important period in the development of Lviv, the owner of the factory, Zygmunt Franciszek Moser (1818-1886), became a Lviv city councilor in 1871-1882, working in the construction and public works sector. In 1890-1892, the factory was rented by the Lviv Jewish Theater for its exhibition.
After the death of the entrepreneur, the factory ceased to exist, the land plot was sold, and, later, a second building of the Railway Directorate was constructed (1897, architect Michal Luzhetsky, who adapted a standard project from Vienna to local conditions), now it is the Lviv Railway Hospital.
