From July 14 to 15, 1894, the 2nd Sokol Congress was held in the newly built stadium in Stryisky Park. The opening ceremony began with a Devine Service within the walls of Lviv Cathedral Church and continued in the hall of the "Sokol" building at 8 Zymorovych Street (now Dudaieva Street), where the city president, Edmund Mokhnatskyi, and leaders of the Sokol organization spoke in front of the congress delegates and fellow Sokols. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, training sessions took place at the stadium in Stryisky Park, and 2 hours later into the stands were admitted spectators, who enthusiastically watched the hundreds of athletes execute gymnastic exercises with precision. A "golden goal" football match between Krakow and Lviv was held on July 14. The match ended after just 6 minutes with a score 0:1 when 2nd Sokol Volodymyr Khomytsky scored a goal against the Krakow team.
