The Bernardine Sisters' Monastery with the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, like many other Lviv churches, was closed in 1782. For a hundred years, the authorities never decided how to use the premises of the church. In 1898-1899, the shrine was rebuilt and handed over to believers. Services were held in the church for students from nearby schools. In 1938-1939, according to the project of architect Antoni Lobos, the bell tower was completed, the monastery building was reconstructed, and the square in front of the church was landscaped.
