On one of the picturesque Lviv hills near the Powder Tower rise the baroque towers of the St. Michael's Church of the Carmelite Order, built in the first half of the 18th century. The church and the monastery formed a separate defensive structure; at that time it was outside the city, so it had its own defensive walls. Part of which still exists on Prosvita Street (the old Carmelite Road), which rises steeply to the right of the monastery. The towers of the church were designed in 1835 by A. Vondrashka - then only one tower was built, in 1906, according to the design of the architect Vladyslav Halytsky, the second one was built, both towers received a different dome finish. The photo was taken from the square next to the regional administration building; in the foreground is a billboard.
